Fun Stuff

Quick list of some of our faves in the neighborhood and nearby. There are more than we could ever list! Enjoy exploring :)

Alma Cafe

Honduran breakfast & lunch. So, so good. They just opened for dinner Thursday to Sunday in January 2022! 4 blocks away.

Breakfast, delicious, they go on wait early on the weekends. Couple blocks away. Grits & Grillades are great here!

Bywater Bakery

One block away! Yummy pastries, coffee, breakfast sammies and cups, good sandwiches, yaka mein, and pre-order your king cake during the season! Chantilly is so good.

One of our favorites, live music, award-winning wine program, chill and rad afternoon spot for cheese, wine, and good times.

St. Roch Market

Food hall with lots of options. Fresh pressed juice. Great wine selection.

Bywater American Bistro

Lil' nicer, award-winning chef Nina Compton, definitely worth a visit for a nice dinner out.

Paladar 511

Housemade pasta, killer cocktails, great composed dishes. Love this place. Sit at the food bar to watch the show.

Hidden gem, incredible garden dining, French cuisine with a Japanese touch. Amazing wine list.

Rosalita's Tacos

Great margs. Try the spicy jalapeno mixed with watermelon!

Budsi Thai

Pretty dang good Thai and just down the street. Great for take-out!

Neighborhood bar hang with a pool table, courtyard, cheap beers. Two blocks away.

They do live music on the regular! Three blocks away. One of Nola's oldest bars. Local hang spot and super fun.

Hi Ho Lounge

Small and fantastic little music venue on St. Claude. DJ Soul Sister is a regular act here. Fun times!

Saturn Bar

Live music, fun dive-y bar, great local hang. Be careful on St. Claude after dark though. Travel in groups and take Ubers vs. walking.

Crescent Park

So beautiful! The entrance is a stone's throw from the house and MAN is it cool. Walk the length of it with a coffee or cocktails or take a morning or evening jog (closes at 7pm). The view of the city and the river is beautiful.

Robert's Market

Closest for groceries, beer, wine. Has all the basics!

Grand Krewe Fine Wines & Spirits

Next door to Paladar 511 and has an amazing selection! Fantastic bubbles on offer here :)

The Joint

Delicious BBQ in the Bywater. Awesome for dine-in, really awesome to take home when you have a bunch of hungry hell-raisers to feed.

Bud Rips

One of the best bars in Nola and just five blocks up the road! Pool table. Great funky bartenders. Local hang spot. Colorful characters. Must visit!

Pizza Delicious

Just what it sounds like and only 4-5 blocks upriver on Piety St. If you're ordering to eat it at the house, go pick it up. It will be so fresh so fresh and it's so so close. Have a beer on the street while ya wait, cause why not?

Satsuma Cafe

Five or so blocks up and great for fresh breakfast and lunch, juice, great sammies, shaded courtyard. Wonderful morning spot to sip and watch the world go by.

Frady's Food Store

An institution! Only open until 3pm. Serves a plate lunch that changes daily. Great, reliable po'boys. Nicest people working there and owning it. You can get a Coke, smokes, Gatorade, headache medicine du jour, lunch, and a Bywater experience.

Saint Germain

Full disclosure, haven't been here yet but it's top of the list.We hear nothing but rave reviews from people who really know.
